Rocking Out Class Procedures!

Today we spent a lot of valuable time going over our rules and procedures for the class. You now all know that tomorrow when you enter the class, you will enter silently, get your bellwork and begin your assignment. By doing this every day, we will set the tone for a day of academic success!

Your homework tonight was to write half a page answering one of two questions:
1) Why are procedures important in this class?
2) What are your goals for this class and why?
This writing assignment will help me to get to know you as writers, so please make sure you do your best and follow the expected writing conventions.

Please make sure you are ready to turn in your h0mework and surveys at the beginning of class tomorrow. Applications for student manager positions are due Thursday. To apply please write a paragraph explaining why you would like the position and what characteristics you possess that make you the best woman/ man for the job.

Feel free to post any thoughts about how the day went, or your opinion about our rules and procedures. Remember to be respectful and responsible in doing so.

If you have joined the blog, invite your friends to do the same!! See you all tomorrow, and have a lovely evening.

It was such a pleasure to meet you all on Friday! As a reminder, your homework is to read over the syllabus and procedures. Become familiar enough to pass a short quiz on Monday. Also, be sure to finish the Student survey, and have your parents sign the letter and complete their survey as well. These will be due on Monday as well.

Don't forget to get your materials together for class this week!

As you enter the class on Monday, please take your bellwork (the procedures quiz) from the front of the room and silently begin your work.

As you create an account and view the blog, "follow" it so I know you are there.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Welcome!

Welcome to English I and Honors English I! We will be using this blog throughout the year to keep track of assignment due dates and discuss the class and our texts. I look forward to a year of hard work and success!

Your participation in this blog will be a part of your participation grade for the class. At times, you may be asked to post assignments as homework. You are also welcome to post questions regarding the class directed to myself or other classmates.

Check this site frequently in the coming days, as I will post handouts from class including the syllabus, supply list, and class expectations and procedures.
